Infinity edges and overflows
One of today's most popular and visually stunning pool features – the “infinity edge” and the “overflow edge”. On infinity edge pools, one side of the pool has a “negative edge”, meaning that it is even with the water level in the pool. Water spills over this edge into a catch basin below, where it is then pumped back into the pool. And the effect is breathtaking as your pool seems to blend or float into the landscaping and view of the garden.
The difference between the two is that the infinity edge is generally carried around the whole circumference of the pool and matches the level of the surrounding landscaping. The overflow is generally a section of the pool overflowing when the land is different levels.
